Setting Up Machinery

To set up machinery, you first need to define the various types of machinery that you use.

 

To do this, go to Stock > H. Setup & Maintain Machines.

 

The following screen displays the types of machinery:

Adding a new type of Machine

The machinery reference can be any four alpha-numeric characters chosen by you. The description is a general description of the machine, usually as given by the manufacturer. The cost per week is the value you may want to depreciate the machine type by on a weekly basis (see example below):

 

 

Example: A vacuum cleaner is bought for £156 and is being depreciated over its expected lifetime of one year. Therefore the weekly cost is £156 / 52 weeks = £3 per week (this is the figure you would enter in the ‘Cost per week’ field.

 

 

The ‘Total Available’ and ‘Total on Site’ fields a self-calculating based on the entries in the Serial Numbers screen below. This is accessed via the ‘Serial Numbers’ button on the previous screen.

 

Adding a new Machine

To add a new machine, select a 'Ref' and a 'Machine Description' from the main Machinery screen.

Once you've added the new machine, select Modify > Count. This will update the Total Available and On Site columns.

Update Machinery Inventory

To update your machinery inventory, go to Stock > H. Setup & Maintain Machines > Serial Nos.

Machinery Report

 

To view a listing of all of your machinery, go to Stock > H. Setup & Maintain Machines > Report
